The stuff people ask before they sign up
Who is this for?
Anyone who wants to be properly good at social media. People moving into a social media job, business owners doing their own marketing, creators growing an audience, and marketers who need to stay sharp. The placement works out your level and your goal, and builds the path around both.
What does “checked weekly” actually mean?
Every platform fact in a lesson (video limits, what a feature can do, what the algorithm rewards) is a live fact with a visible date on it. Every week we re-check them against what the platforms themselves say, with a human reviewing anything that moves. So when TikTok changes a limit, your lessons already know.
How does the placement work?
About five minutes, closer to ten if you know a lot. You rate yourself in six skill areas, quick scenario questions check whether you're right, and you tell us your goal and the platforms you care about. It routes you; it doesn't grade you. You get a level for each area and a path that skips what you already know. Retake it whenever you like.
Do I have to pay to try it?
No. The assessment, your path, all of Module 1 and lesson one of every other module are free, and we don't ask for a card. Pro is everything else.
Which platforms do you cover?
Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, X, Pinterest, Snapchat, Reddit and WhatsApp Business, picked for what matters to a UK career or business, plus an emerging track for the likes of Threads and whatever launches next.
Are the certificates recognised?
They're the Academy's own certificates, not a regulated qualification, and they're built to be checked. Each one is earned by passing every module test in a level, and has a public page showing who earned it, when, every module it covered and whether the rules it tested still hold. You get a badge sized for LinkedIn and Instagram, a PDF for your CV, and one tap to add it to your LinkedIn profile. How certification works →
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. From your account page, in two clicks, through Stripe. You keep access until the end of what you've paid for. Founding members who cancel give up their locked price, though.
I'm a complete beginner. Is this too advanced?
Level 1 assumes nothing. It starts with what the platforms are and the words people use on them. The placement will start you right there, and the path builds one level at a time.
