About The Social Media Academy
The Social Media Academy is the training division of Firebrand, the company collectively responsible for a number of products and services designed to make easy sense of the opportunities presented by the rise of social media.
The two arms of Firebrand are The Social Media Academy, a training and consultancy resource covering all fields related to social media and online PR, and Social Media Library, an intelligent social media database which provides up-to-date information on the most influential social media contacts in the UK.
The Social Media Academy was launched in July 2009 and provides workshop seminars across a wide selection of social media topics created for different vertical sectors. The Academy also organises conferences tailored to specific sectors as well as providing bespoke in-house training sessions on any aspect of social media. Over 1000 delegates have now been trained through The Social Media Academy with delegates travelling from across Europe to attend events.
Social Media Library, which started in October 2008, is the only available UK database of social media contacts covering blogs, Twitter, social networks, podcasts and forums that are fully categorised by topic and location. The Archive and Barometer tools allow you to track social media conversations relevant to your client or brand.
Firebrand was founded by digital communications experts Graham Lee and James Fitzgerald, who were previously behind onlinefire, one of the UK's first specialist online PR agencies. onlinefire was acquired by independent PR agency Eulogy! in 2008, freeing up 100% of the founders' time to focus on Firebrand.
